How to Turn Your Pain Into Purpose (Without Ignoring Your Grief)
There’s a phrase people say all the time when something hard happens:
“Everything happens for a reason.”
And sometimes… that just doesn’t land.
Sometimes it actually hurts to hear.
Because when you’re in the middle of grief, loss or something that completely changed your life, the last thing you want is for it to be explained away or wrapped up in a neat meaning.
And honestly? I don’t believe we need to “find a reason” or that our pain is for a purpose. Because sometimes… there just isn’t one.
Grief needs space.
Pain needs honesty.
And healing doesn’t follow a timeline.
But… I do believe we can turn our pain INTO purpose.
and that is different.
Because YOU get to decide what you do with it.
Maybe not right away. But over time… when you’ve had space to feel it, process it and move through it…
There can come a moment where you start to ask:
What do I want to do with this?
Not because it was meant to happen.
Not because it had a grand purpose.
But because you are allowed to create something from it.
I’ve seen this in my own life, and in the people I work with.
Pain doesn’t just disappear.
But it can deepen you.
It can shift your perspective.
It can open your heart in ways you didn’t expect.
It can shape how you show up, what you value and how you connect with others.
And sometimes… you take that experience and turn it into something meaningful.
That’s what turning pain into purpose really is.
Not finding the purpose in the pain…
But creating purpose from it.
If you’re in that space right now, I talk more about this in this week’s video.
