Grief and Maybe Gratitude
It’s November—the start of the holidays and the season of "thankfulness."
But if you’re grieving or going through a hard time…whether it’s the loss of someone you love, an ending, or just feeling overwhelmed by life, this season can be really hard.
I get it. I truly do.
I know how painful it can feel when everyone around you is talking about gratitude lists, silver linings, and the "positive vibes only" stuff... when deep down, you’re just trying to get through the day.
If I’m being honest, part of me dreads this time of year. It starts to feel like a countdown. My brother Joseph passed away in early January and his birthday is just two days before that. So while the world is lighting candles and singing carols, I feel the weight creeping in….every. single. year.
So if your heart is heavy this season, this is what I have learned:
🌟 Grief and gratitude don’t have to live in the same room.
Grief and gratitude don’t have to live in the same room.
They don't always have to be paired together.
They’re not opposites that need to be balanced.
They’re two completely different places on the map.
And sometimes… you're just not ready to visit both. And that's ok!
That doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you. That doesn’t make you ungrateful. It just makes you human.
That is exacatly what I’m talking about this week in my new video: Grief and Maybe Gratitude.
Not to resist gratitude… but to not force it before your heart is ready, regardless of what time of year it is.
So, if your heart is hurting or you’re feeling the weight of this season, this video might offer a little breathing room.
But to give you space to be where you actually are, with honesty, compassion and to know you’re not alone in it.

I hope this can give you a little ‘permission’, to be where you are at in this moment.
And I’ll be back next week with more grief support for the holiday season.
Wishing you gentleness, grace, and whatever your heart needs most right now!
