When Grief Takes a Seat
The holidays have a way of making everything louder.
The music.
The gatherings.
The traditions.
The expectations.
And if you're grieving… your grief gets louder too.
Not just sad, not just heavy—present.
Like another guest at the table you didn’t invite but can’t ignore.
This week, I’m talking about that very thing:
✨ Why grief “takes a seat” at the holiday table
✨ The ritual that’s kept me grounded for 15 years
✨ Why the “empty chair” isn’t actually empty
✨ And a simple Grief Recipe exercise to help you honor what you’re carrying this season
Because here’s what I’ve learned after 15 years of grieving my brother:
The chair isn’t empty.
Your grief sits there with you… right beside your love, your memories, and your courage.
It comes with you. It fills the room. It deserves to be honored.
Whatever this season brings…tears, laughter, heaviness, a moment of joy, all of it is part of the love that’s still here.
That love doesn’t disappear at the holidays.
It travels with you.
It sits beside you.
It belongs.
If you're heading into this season feeling the ache of who's missing or the pressure to “be festive,” this video will give you grounding and support.
